The panel is CNC-machined aluminum alloy, about 40% lighter than a comparable steel panel while being stiffer in torsion. Weight matters here: everything you bolt to the tailgate is load the hinges carry every time the door swings.
The surface goes through a high-temperature coating and anodizing step, which builds a denser layer than a single paint pass. That is the difference between a panel that survives a few seasons of trail dust and one that starts showing scuffs in a year.
Hardware Hidden, Grid Exposed
All screws and mounting interfaces sit behind the panel. The face you see is a clean MOLLE grid and expansion ports, nothing else.
The cut pattern is geometric rather than decorative. It stiffens the sheet and gives the panel layered shadow under light, which is why it reads as factory-adjacent rather than bolted on.
Modular Mounting
The whole face is standardized MOLLE grid, which is compatible with the majority of MOLLE pouches, tool bags and bottle holders sold today. How you lay it out is up to you.

Installation
